Al-Qalyubiyya ( Arabic محافظة القليوبية Muhāfazat al-Qalyūbīya , DMG Muḥāfaẓat al-Qalyūbīya , Egyptian-Arabic Muḥāfẓet El Alyobeya ), also Qalyubia , is a governorate in Egypt and is located in the southern Nile Delta .
It borders in the north on the governorate al-Gharbiyya , in the east on the governorate al-Sharqiyya , in the south on the governorate al-Qahira and in the west on the governorate al-Minufiyya . The administrative center is Banha . The governorate has 5,627,420 inhabitants.
