Alba Arnova
Alba Arnova (born March 15, 1930 in Buenos Aires as Alba Fossati , † March 11, 2018 in Rome ) was an Italian ballerina and film actress .
life and career
Alba Arnova is the daughter of two Italian emigrants . She studied piano at the conservatory and enrolled in the university's medical school. She was the first classical dancer in many important productions by Garinei and Giovannini at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and changed her surname first to Ars Nova and then to Arnova . She left Argentina in 1948 for a six-month stage tour and finally stayed in Rome, where she first worked as a classical dancer and revue, but also as a soubrette in spoken theater.
Arnova began a film career in 1949 with her first supporting roles in films. In 1956, she caused controversy when she appeared on the RAI television show La piazzetta in tight pink tights that made her appear half-naked because of the lighting effects and the black and white system. The show was canceled and Arnova was banned from Italian television in the end. She then decided to leave show business.
Arnova was married to the composer and conductor Gianni Ferrio .
