Career
Albrecht Konrad began his career in the early 1980s with the equipment of the directorial work Monica Teubner ( Primel drives her house crazy and career , both 1979/80) and Stelvio Massi's thriller The Man Who Was Venice (1980), with Maurizio Merli and Jutta Speidel in the leading roles. This was followed by regular assignments for German film and television productions, for which he mainly worked as a set designer and art director, sometimes also as a prop master . He also created the buildings for Wim Wenders ' award-winning drama In Far Far Away, So Close! (1993) or Uli Edel's heroic epic The Nibelungs (2004).
Albrecht Konrad achieved his first international success for his sets for Christian Duguay's multi-part television series Hitler - Aufstieg des Böse (2003), which earned him an Emmy and a nomination for the American Art Directors Guild . His greatest success so far was the set for Roman Polański's thriller Der Ghostwriter (2010), which was filmed in the Babelsberg film studios near Potsdam and on the German islands of Usedom , Rømø and Sylt .
