Albudeite is a municipality in the autonomous community of Murcia in Spain . It belongs to the province of Murcia . In 2019, 1,373 people lived in Albudeite, covering an area of ​​17 km².

location

Albudeite is 28 kilometers northwest of Murcia and about 100 kilometers southwest of Alicante . The RM-15 regional road, which connects to the city of Murcia, runs south of the municipality .

history

Albudeite was first mentioned in a document on July 25, 1296 and was initially predominantly inhabited by Muslims . At the end of 1501, many of the previously Muslim residents of the then village converted to Christianity and were baptized .

Population development

In the 1960s, Albudeite had the highest number of inhabitants in the history of the place with 1,804 inhabitants.
