Aleš Briscein

Aleš Briscein (born January 25, 1969 in Liberec ) is a Czech opera singer with a tenor voice .

Life

Aleš Briscein studied clarinet , saxophone and then opera singing in Prague and Pilsen ; In 1995 he made his debut at the Prague State Opera , where he then sang lyrical and character roles.

As part of a Japan tour of the Prague State Opera, he appeared in Japan in 1999 as Tamino ( Die Zauberflöte ) and in 2000 as Kudrjáš ( Káťa Kabanová ) ; In 2003 he made his debut in Massenet's Manon in Vancouver and in Donizetti's Don Pasquale in Cyprus .

From 2004 he was permanently engaged at the Opéra National de Paris ; In 2010 he made his debut at the Vienna Volksoper as Prinz ( Rusalka ), in 2011 at the Salzburg Festival in Věc Makropulos and in 2012 in the title role of Lohengrin at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl .

In 2013 he made his debut at the Komische Oper Berlin , the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Oper Graz , 2015 in Frankfurt am Main , and also in Bologna and Rome . In 2016 he made his role debut in Savonlinna as Skuratov in Janáček's Aus einer Totenhaus , in 2017 his role debut in the title role of Zemlinsky's Zwerg in Graz , and a few months later he made his debut at the Theater an der Wien in the role of drum major in Wozzeck . In November 2018 he made his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Albert Gregor in Janáček's The Makropulos Case .

Briscein has remained connected to his homeland, the Czech Republic, and (as of the 2019/20 season) sings a broad repertoire in opera houses there, especially in Prague, but also in Brno , Ostrava and in his native Liberec.
