Alex & Co. - The Movie ( Italian title: Come diventare grandiflora nonostante i genitori; to German: As you grow despite the parents ) is an Italian youth - Drama by Luca Lucini from the year 2016 , that of the The Walt Disney Company Italy and was produced by 3Zero2. The film is based on the Italian series Alex & Co. on the Disney Channel. In Italy, the film premiered in the country's cinemas on November 24, 2016. The new school director Silvia Rufini decides against the resistance of some colleagues to abolish all extracurricular activities at the school. She also declines her school's participation in a national music competition that Alex and his friends would like to take part in. The friends' legal guardians quickly speak out, protesting against this decision. But when the headmistress threatens to double the amount of homework and the first bad grades enter the house, the legal guardians give in. Disappointed by the decision of their guardians and driven by their passion for music, Alex and his friends decide to take part in the competition against the will of their legal guardians and the school management.
On the way to the final and to victory, the friends now need help from elsewhere. They receive this in the form of unexpected new friends. In addition, each of the friends within their family has other problems and conflicts to solve. In addition to topics such as privacy, self-determination, mutual acceptance and self-realization, these include topics such as coping with grief, love and solidarity. And so it is not surprising that right at the beginning of the film the question of how to grow up despite your parents is thrown around the room. It is gradually answered in the film.

On December 2, 2015, The Walt Disney Company Italy announced that it would produce a feature film based on the hit Italian Disney Channel series Alex & Co. , which was scheduled for September 2016. On March 31, 2016, it was announced that Luis Prieto would be responsible for the direction and Gennaro Nunziante for the script. The film release has been postponed from September 2016 to November 24, 2016. On October 21, 2016 it was announced that Luis Prieto had been replaced by Luca Lucini and that the film was titled Come diventare grandi nonostante i genitori . In addition, the names of some of the film's actors were published.
