Alexander Gordan is the stage name of Joachim Goroncy (born June 24, 1926 in Berlin ; † May 28, 2008 in Berlin). He used Peter Hameg and Detlev as further pseudonyms . Joachim Goroncy was a lyricist , composer , singer , arranger and music producer .

life and career

Alexander Gordan was born in Berlin as Joachim Goroncy, son of the conductor Anton Goroncy. He received a musical training and studied piano and singing at the Berlin Conservatory until 1949 . He then worked as a répétiteur and wrote his own musical arrangements and songs a little later. He founded his own band and performed with this mainly in French clubs. At that time he took his stage name "Alexander Gordan" because his real name was often mispronounced. He kept the initials of his father A. G. and changed it to Alexander Gordan.

Alexander Gordan was with Ingrid Goroncy, geb. Teske (1942-2001) married with whom he had a daughter. She sang in 1979 for the recording of the single "Our cat - Der liebe Gott". Gordan is buried in the Schöneberg III cemetery in Berlin.

In 1961 he took part in the preliminary decision for the Grand Prix Eurovision . In 1962 he had his greatest success as a copywriter to date ( he wrote the German lyrics for the song Speedy Gonzales for Rex Gildo ). This reached second place in the German charts . In 1969 and 1970 he took part in the German hit competition. Graham Bonney made it into the top 30 of the German charts for the last time in 1970 with the song he composed, "I do an interview with your heart". In the project "Fred & Alex" he publishes some parody singles together with Fred Oldbod.

Alexander Gordan also appeared as a singer under the pseudonym "Detlev", for example in 1975 with the single "So gay can't be a man" (musically based on the hit song by singer Gitte "No man can be so beautiful"). Eight singles and 3 albums were released by 1980.

Alexander Gordan took over the lead of the studio orchestra " Cliff Carpenter " in the late 1970s .
