Alexander Schön

Alexander Schön (born August 20, 1864 in Hamburg ; † January 9, 1941 there ) was a Hamburg lawyer. He was President of the Hamburg Parliament.

Life

Schön's father was the entrepreneur and politician Gustav Adolf Schön . He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen . In 1884 he was reciprocated in the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg and in the Corps Suevia Tübingen . As an inactive , he moved to the Kaiser Wilhelms University of Strasbourg . In 1887 he completed his studies with a dissertation in Heidelberg. In the following years he completed his military service, first in the infantry regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm, King of Prussia" (2nd Württembergisches) No. 120 , then on foot in the 4th Guards Regimentin Berlin. In 1891 Schön settled down as a lawyer in Hamburg. He entered the civil service in 1899 and became a councilor in the Maritime Administration . He later became its chairman. In 1909 he was elected to the Hamburg parliament, to which he belonged until 1919. From 1912 to 1919 Schön was President of the City Council. Schön was a member and 1901–1906 Dominus praeses of the Academic Club in Hamburg . The Schöns owned the Einhaus estate near Oldenburg (Oldb) .
