Lutz Mohaupt (born August 7, 1942 in Grünberg / Silesia ) is a Lutheran theologian and was senior pastor at St. Jacobi in Hamburg for many years until 2005 . In 2005 he became press spokesman for the Hamburg Senate and sat from 2008 to 2011 as a member of the CDU - as a non-party member - in the Hamburg parliament . On February 24, 2010 he was elected President of the Hamburg Parliament and held this office until the early end of the election period on March 7, 2011.

education

Lutz Mohaupt grew up in Cuxhaven after the war and studied theology from 1962 to 1967 at the universities in Hamburg , Heidelberg and Zurich . From 1967 to 1970 he completed the vicariate and was ordained to the ministry on March 29, 1970 . Professional background

In 1970 Mohaupt entered the service of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Hamburg state and in 1970 became the personal advisor to the Bishop of Hamburg, Hans-Otto Wölber . In 1975 Mohaupt was appointed senior church councilor in the Lutheran Church Office of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD) in Hanover . Here he was a consultant for fundamental theological issues. In 1980 Mohaupt followed a call to Hamburg in the now North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church and at the age of 38 took over the position of the youngest senior pastor in Hamburg at the St. Jacobi Church , succeeding Wenzel Lohff . He held this office for almost 25 years. His successor was Karl-Günther Petters . Mohaupt published numerous books and wrote articles on theological and church political topics as well as sermons and sermon meditations.

During the Hamburg state election, 1993 is Mohaupt of Science and Culture Senators presented as a non-party candidate for shadow cabinet of Dirk Fischer available. Lutz Mohaupt was a member of the Broadcasting Council of the North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR) for many years and was chairman of the Hamburg State Broadcasting Council from 1997 to 2005. He was also chairman of the board of directors of the Association for Inner Mission - Hamburg City Mission . Until spring 2002, Mohaupt was chairman of the jury for the CDU's Hamburg Citizens' Prize .
