Alexander Wiktorowitsch Choroschilow ( Russian Александр Викторович ророшилов , FIS - spelling Alexander Khoroshilov ; born February 16, 1984 in Jelisowo , Kamchatka Region , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian ski racer .

biography

Khoroshilov's first international appearance was at the FIS race on January 22, 2000 in Les Carroz in France , where he immediately reached tenth place. His first victory in FIS races brought the Russians in February 2004 in Finnish Rovaniemi , when he won the slalom there. Since 2006 he has won ten Russian championship titles, eight of them in slalom and one each in super combined and giant slalom.

Khoroshilov had his first European Cup appearance in Ravascaletto in February 2001 when he was eliminated in the giant slalom. His first top 10 place was not achieved until 2008 in Landgraaf in an indoor slalom. The Russian took seventh place. His first World Cup appearance was on December 17, 2004 in Levi . He achieved his first top 10 place at the Hahnenkamm combination in Kitzbühel , where he finished eighth in 2006. Three years later he came again in the combination of Kitzbühel in ninth place for a second time in the top ten.

In the winters 2012/13 and 2013/14, ninth places were his best results in the World Cup. Khoroshilov achieved a significant increase in performance in the 2014/15 season. After equalizing his best career result in the Levi slalom on November 16, 2014 , he finished third in the Åre slalom on December 14, 2014 . It was the first World Cup podium for a Russian since Alexander Schirow in March 1981. A little more than a month later, on January 27, 2015, he won his first World Cup victory in the Schladming night slalom .

Khoroshilov took part in four junior world championships , but never got beyond a 35th place except for a 16th place in the combined 2004 in Maribor . He was also one of the Russian participants in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , where he competed in all disciplines except giant slalom. The best result he achieved was 22nd place in the combination. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she started in all five disciplines and finished in every race. He achieved his best result again in the super combination, in which he was 21st. He was also among the top 30 in slalom and super-G. The Russian has also participated in six world championships so far . He achieved his best result in 2017 in St. Moritz when he finished fifth in the slalom.
