Alfred J. Noll

Alfred Johannes Noll (born January 30, 1960 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian lawyer , attorney , university professor , editor , non-fiction author and politician ( NOW , previously List Pilz ). He was a member of the Austrian National Council from November 9, 2017 until the end of the 26th legislative period on October 22, 2019 .

Life

Noll attended the Werkschulheim Felbertal and learned there the teaching of radio, television and telecommunications technician. He completed his training in 1978 with the journeyman's examination and the Matura . After studying law (1979 to 1983) in Salzburg and Vienna, he studied sociology at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna in 1985 , completed the judicial year in 1985/86 and worked as a trainee in several law firms from 1986 to 1992, including Georg Pliers . He has been a lawyer in Vienna since 1992, and has been a university lecturer in public law and legal theory since 1998 , with a habilitation thesis Objectivity or Equality? A legal policy study on law and equality before the Austrian Constitutional Court .

Noll is the founder and co-editor of the Journal for Legal Policy , a member of the scientific advisory board of the journal Medien und Recht , a member of the Vienna Bar Association since 2004 and a member of the Austrian Legal Commission . As an expert in copyright and media law, he advises and represents several media. He emerges in several subjects as an author on legal, also on general socio-political and literary issues. B. in the art restitution case of the painting Amalie Zuckerkandl by Gustav Klimt , also gained international renown.

On July 25, 2017 it was announced that he would run for the list of Peter Pilz , for whose election campaign he had donated 98,000 euros, in the 2017 National Council election. The list received 4.41% of the vote and 8 of the 183 seats.

Noll was a member of the Austrian National Council from November 9, 2017 until the end of the legislative period on October 22, 2019 . He did not run again for the National Council election on September 29, 2019 .

Noll's twin daughters were born in 1981, their mother is Ursula Kose, a certified landscape ecologist and designer .

Journalistic contributions by Alfred J. Noll have appeared in the daily newspapers Der Standard , taz , Junge Welt and FAZ .
