Alien Love Secrets is the second EP from American rock musician Steve Vai . The EP was released in March 1995 under the label Relativity Records and reached number 125 on the Billboard 200 and stayed in the charts for 2 weeks.
Trivia
According to Vai, the EP was recorded with minimal instrumentation ( guitar , bass , drums and keyboard ) within six weeks, as Vai's recording sessions for Fire Garden were too long and therefore the EP was released before Fire Garden . Well-known pieces from the EP are Bad Horsie , which contains guitar passages from the film Crossroads - Pact with the Devil and is characterized by its enormous guitar and sound skills. Juice has the familiar complexity again and was used on the PlayStation game Formula 1 . Ya-Yo Gakk is a call and response interaction between Vai's son Julian and Vais playing guitar. Tender Surrender is one of Vai's most popular songs and has a high level of difficulty as well as diversity and was inspired by the Jimi Hendrix composition Villanova Junction Blues . The song The Boy from Seattle is a tribute to Hendrix. It is based on the theme of his piece Wait 'till Tomorrow . The trademark of speech and sound imitation, which was developed as a member of the band around David Lee Roth , is used several times on Alien Love Secrets : as horse crawling, baby babbling and "alien dialogue".
