Surname
A few meters south of the Altes Weinbach runs parallel to the Weinbach , which also flows into the Marlach just a few meters from the mouth of the Altes Weinbach. The term “Alter Weinbach” is not used everywhere; on OpenStreetMap it is called "Alter Weinbachgraben" and on LANIS (see individual records) it is simply called "Weinbach" (as of August 2019).
course
The old Weinbach has its origin east of Deidesheim in the parcel "In der Leisengewann", which once belonged to the Leysser Adelshof . It flows to the east, first crosses under the federal highway 271 and then passes the district boundary to Niederkirchen near Deidesheim . It then flows through the village, here it changes its direction to the south for a few meters; Apart from this change of direction, it always flows almost exactly to the east. In this area, the Alte Weinbach takes on an inlet from the right that flows from Deidesheim. To the east of Niederkirchen it crosses the district boundary to Meckenheim , there flows under the state road 528 and flows northwest of the building boundary into the Marlach from the left .
