The Weinbach is a 7.9 km long body of water III. Order in the Palatinate . Its source, the Weinbachspring , lies in the Martental of the Palatinate Forest on the Deidesheim district . It flows along its entire length in the Deidesheim community and flows into the Marlach at Meckenheim .
course
From its source, the Weinbachspring , the Weinbach runs through the Martental of the Palatinate Forest first to the southeast, where it absorbs water from the Grimmeisenbrunnen . At the Deidesheimer Hütte it takes a tributary from the Kupferbrunn Valley from the right. From here it runs through the Mühltal; at the edge of the forest it bends northeast and continues through the corridor, past the Deidesheim swimming pool, which used to be fed with its water. A few meters east of the swimming pool it takes up the Leingraben from the left. It flows through Deidesheim, here it is partially piped and flows again towards the southeast. He runs a little through the moat that used to enclose the city wall. From the left it takes water from the northern part of the moat, and then changes its direction slightly to the east. A few meters east of Deidesheim it crosses under the B 271 , then it passes Niederkirchen near Deidesheim in the south and receives the treated wastewater from the local sewage treatment plant. At Meckenheim it flows under the L 528 and joins the Marlach from the left to the northwest of the building boundary.
Mills
At the entrance to the Mühltal there were two mills that were built in the 19th century, but they no longer exist today. One of the mills was destroyed in a downpour in 1868, killing one person. The other, the Corellsche Wappenschmiede, was bought by the city of Deidesheim, which had it demolished in 1921.
