The old town of Kleinbasel describes the part of the old town on the right bank of the Rhine in the Swiss city ​​of Basel . Together with the Grossbasel part , it forms the historical center of the city and borders in the north on the Matthäus district (Klingentalgraben) (Riehenstrasse), in the northeast on the Clara district (Klybeckstrasse, Claragraben), in the south on the Rhine and in the east on the district Wettstein (Claragraben, Wettsteinstrasse).

On the Kleinbasel side are the popular riverside squares on the banks of the Rhine and the former Klingentalkloster with the Kleines Klingental Museum . The two quarters are connected by the Mittlere Brücke and a Rhine ferry .
