Amok Hunt (Original Title: Wolf Lake ) is an American thriller from 1978, which was directed by Burt Kennedy .

action

The film takes place during the Vietnam War . Four elderly American men go on a hunting trip together at a remote lake, Wolf Lake, in Canada . The authoritarian Charlie is seen as a leader by the group. He served in the US Army in World War II and lost his son in the Vietnam War. The hunting lodge is run by the sensitive young caretaker David and his girlfriend Linda. Charlie's friends suspect that David is a deserter from the US Army and fear bad things. If the chauvinist Charlie found out about it, David would no longer be safe from him. When Charlie finally confronts David, David tells him why: He witnessed US soldiers massacring the civilian population of Vietnam. But these arguments don't count for Charlie. For him, David is a traitor to his fatherland who must be destroyed. With increasing duration, the honest facade of the hunters crumbles, and sadistic and sexistic traits emerge. David and Linda are mercilessly hunted by them.
