Amphoe Ku Kaeo ( Thai อำเภอ กู่ แก้ว ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Udon Thani Province . The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Isan , the northeast region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): Nong Han , Chai Wan , Si That , Kumphawapi and Prachaksinlapakhom district . All neighboring Amphoe are in Udon Thani Province.

history

Ku Kaeo was initially set up as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on April 30, 1994 , by separating it from the Nong Han district .

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

Amphoe Ku Kaeo is divided into four communities ( Tambon ) , which in turn are divided into 37 villages ( Muban ) .

Local administration

There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Ku Kaeo ( เทศบาล ตำบล กู่ แก้ว ), consisting of the entire Tambon Ban Chit,
  • Khon Sai ( เทศบาล ตำบล คอน สาย ), consisting of the entire tambon Khon Sai.

There are also two “Tambon Administrative Organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) for the tambon in the district that do not belong to any city.
