Bad Holzhausen is a village with 3514 inhabitants in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Minden-Lübbecke district and belongs to the city of Preußisch Oldendorf .
geography
Bad Holzhausen is located about four kilometers southeast of Preußisch Oldendorf at the foot of the Wiehen Mountains (more precisely: on the Limberg ), directly at the Northern Teutoburg Forest-Wiehen Mountains Nature Park . The Große Aue flows through the village .
history
In 1033 Holzhausen was first mentioned in a document from Emperor Conrad II .
In 1843, the rural community of Holzhausen was formed from the localities of Holzhausen and Heddinghausen, which at the same time formed its own office until 1890 . It was co-administered by the Oldendorf Office in personal union.
On January 1, 1973, Holzhausen became a district of Preußisch Oldendorf through the Bielefeld Act .
The place has been a state-approved spa since December 2007 and has had the addition of "bath" since then.

Culture and sights
In the approximately five-hectare spa park is the former Holzhausen manor from 1529, which has served as the guest house since 1981.
The Holzhausen-Hudenbeck water mill is also located in the spa gardens .
Crollage Castle is around 1.5 kilometers south of Bad Holzhausen .
The church in Bad Holzhausen , built between 1200 and 1250, was renovated in 1906 in the neo-Gothic style.

The L 557 meets the B 65 running through the village in Bad Holzhausen .
The Bad Holzhausen train station provides access to the Bassum – Herford railway line . The local trains run there in the relation Bünde - Rahden . On the formerly continuing track section from Rahden to Bassum , train traffic was discontinued in the 1990s. This section of the route has now been closed. The railway company Eurobahn , based in Düsseldorf , operates on the route .
