history

The district of Jevenstedt was formed on April 1, 1889 from the municipalities Altenkattbek, Hörsten, Jevenstedt, Nienkattbek, Schülp b. Rendsburg, Schwabe and Westerrönfeld as well as some enclosures in the Rendsburg forest estate and a piece of the wild moor from the Rendsburg district. In 1928 parts of Westerrönfeld were incorporated into the city of Rendsburg. In 1947 the administrative district became the Jevenstedt office and in 1948 the Westerrönfeld municipality left office. From 1966 the Jevenstedt office formed an administrative community with the neighboring office in Luhnstedt, to which the communities Brinjahe, Embühren, Hamweddel, Luhnstedt and Stafstedt belonged.

In the course of the major regional reform in 1970, the offices of Jevenstedt and Luhnstedt were merged. In addition, there was the community of Haale from the Lütjenwestedt office. In 1974 the municipalities of Altenkattbek, Nienkattbek and Schwabe joined the municipality of Jevenstedt.

On January 1, 2001, the municipality of Westerrönfeld rejoined the office.
