Ana Paula Rodrigues Belo (born October 18, 1987 in São Luís ) is a Brazilian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Brazilian national team.

Career

In the club

Ana Paula Rodrigues Belo started playing handball in 2001 at a Brazilian school. From 2006, the back court player continued her career in Guarulhos . In summer 2007 she signed a contract with the Spanish club BM Puertodulce Roquetas. A season later, Rodrigues Belo was signed by BM Elche Mustang. After the Brazilian had a significant share in the first qualification for the EHF Cup in Elche's club history with 246 goals in the 2008/09 season , she took the league competitor Elda Prestigio under contract. With Elda Prestigio she was in the final of the EHF Cup in 2010 , but failed there because of the Danish team Randers HK .

Rodrigues Belo joined the Austrian association Hypo Niederösterreich in the summer of 2011 , which shortly before had signed a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian handball association. With Hypo, she won both the Austrian championship and the ÖHB Cup in every season . She also collects match practice in the EHF Champions League every season . In the EHF Champions League 2012/13 Hypo Niederösterreich was eliminated after the preliminary round, but qualified for the current competition of the European Cup Winners' Cup . Here Hypo moved into the final and won the final against the French club Issy Paris Hand . In summer 2014 she joined the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest . With CSM Bucharest she won the championship in 2015 and 2016, the Romanian Cup in 2016 and the EHF Champions League in 2016. From the 2016/17 season she was under contract with the Russian first division club GK Rostov-on-Don . With Rostov she won the EHF Cup in 2017 and the Russian championship in 2017 and 2018. In January 2020 she moved to the French first division team Chambray Touraine Handball .

In the national team

Ana Paula Rodrigues Belo took part with the Brazilian selection in the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara . There she won the gold medal and contributed six goals to the final victory over Argentina. The Brazilian also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

Rodrigues Belo was part of the Brazilian squad at the 2009 , 2011 , 2013 and 2015 World Championships . At the 2013 World Cup in Serbia , she celebrated winning the World Cup title and finished ninth in the top scorer list with 39 goals. She won another title at the 2013 Pan American Championship , where she was also elected to the Allstar Team. She also won the gold medal at the 2017 Pan American Championship .
