Anastasios "Tassos" Donis ( Greek Αναστάσιος Δώνης ; born August 29, 1996 in Blackburn , Lancashire , England ) is a Greek football player . The striker is on loan from VfB Stuttgart to Stade Reims .
Club career
Anastasios Donis was born in 1996 as the son of the German-born Greek national player Georgios Donis in Blackburn, UK, as his father was under contract with the Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League at the time. In 2000 Donis' father moved back to Greece, where he ended his career in 2001.
Donis began playing football in the youth of Panathinaikos Athens , where his father had also played. In 2013 he moved from Panathinaikos Athens to the Italian record champions Juventus Turin . In February 2015 he was awarded to US Sassuolo Calcio until the end of the season . He then went on loan to FC Lugano for a year . With Lugano he reached the final of the Swiss Cup 2015/16 . As part of another loan deal, he joined OGC Nice , where he contributed five league goals to third place in Ligue 1 in 2016/17 .
On July 1, 2017, Anastasios Donis moved to VfB Stuttgart . He signed a contract with the Swabians dated until June 2021. He made his league debut for VfB on August 19, 2017 on the first match day of the 2017/18 season against Hertha BSC . Donis scored his first Bundesliga goal on October 13th against 1. FC Köln, making it 1-0.
On September 2, 2019, the Greek moved to the French premier league on loan to Stade Reims . In the event of relegation, a purchase obligation applies.
National team
Tasos Donis took part in qualifying for the 2017 European Championship with the Greek U21 national team. He made his debut for the senior national team of Greece on June 9, 2017 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup .
