Anatoly Wassiljewitsch Bakuschinski

Anatoly Vasilyevich Bakuschinski ( Russian Анатолий Васильевич Бакушинский ; born April 16 . Jul / 28. April  1883 greg. In Werchni Landech ; † 9. January 1939 in Moscow ) was a Russian art historian and university lecturer .

Life

In 1907 Bakuschinski began studying at Dorpat University , which he graduated in 1911. He then taught at the Moscow Schelaputin Institute for Education from 1912 to 1914 .

After the October Revolution , Bakuschinski worked in Moscow from 1917 to 1925 in the Zwetkow Gallery and from 1924 in the Tretyakov Gallery until his death. He developed a methodology for the preparation of excursions and principles for aesthetic education, especially for children.

Bakuschinski was a board member of the State Academy of Art Studies of the RSFSR in Moscow, founded in 1921 , which pursued goals similar to the Bauhaus and existed until 1930 (President: Pyotr Semjonowitsch Kogan ; Vice-Presidents: Wassily Kandinsky , Nikolai Kirjakowitsch Piksanow , Gustav Speth ; Board: Kogan (Chair ), Piksanow (Vice-Chair), Bakuschinski, AM Rodionow, Leonid Leonidowitsch Sabanejew , Wladimir Maximowitsch Fritsche , Speth, Nikolai Efimowitsch Efros ). Bakuschinski sat down since the revolution for the revival of the Russian craft with lacquer miniatures from Palekh , the lacquer miniatures from Mstjora , the kholuy miniature , the Khokhloma -Painting which Gorodezer painting and Dymkowoer toys from Vyatka Dymkovo one. He developed his own working methods, which have retained their importance to this day. He worked with the masters, whose artistic freedom should not be restricted in favor of economic efficiency.

From 1921 Bakuschinski was a professor at the Department of Theory and History of Art at Moscow University . In 1936 he received his doctorate in art .

Bakushinsky was buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery.
