The Andorran U-21 national football team is a selection team of Andorran football players . It is subordinate to the Federació Andorrana de Futbol and represents him at the U-21 level , in friendly matches against the national teams of other national associations, but also at the European Championship of the continental association UEFA . Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 21 and who are Andorran citizens . In tournaments, the age at the first qualifying game is decisive.
history
Although the senior national team of Andorra has regularly played in official international matches since 1996, Andorra first introduced an U-21 national team in 2006. So far, she has only played two official internationals. In the pre-qualification for the U-21 European Football Championship in 2007 , however, the small state failed in a return leg against Iceland . In the first international match of a U21 Andorra on May 3, 2006 they were 0-0, but on June 1, 2006 they lost 2-0 in Iceland. It was the first and so far only defeat in a competitive game for the U21 Andorra. For the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Andorra is not even begun.
