Lars Andreas Dackell (born December 29, 1972 in Gävle ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for the Ottawa Senators and Montréal Canadiens in the National Hockey League and Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien during his active career between 1992 and 2012 .
Career
Andreas Dackell began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at Gävle GIK , for whose professional team he was active from 1990 to 1992 in the then second-class Division 1 . At the same time, the attacker took part in the game operation of the Elitserien for their city rivals Brynäs IF , to which he switched to the 1992/93 season. With Brynäs he won the Swedish championship this season and was runner-up with the team two years later. After being the top scorer and top scorer of the SuperAllsvenskan in the 1995/96 season, the right- shooter was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft as a 136th player .
From 1996 to 2001, Dackell was a permanent member of the Senators and played in all but nine regular season games for the Canadians in the National Hockey League . Then the 1994 Olympic champion was transferred to the Montréal Canadiens , for which he was on the ice for another three years in the NHL. For the 2004/05 season the winger returned to his Swedish homeland, where he received a contract as a free agent with his ex-club Brynäs IF, for which he played until the end of the 2011/12 season and was team captain .
International
For Sweden , Dackell took part in the 1994 , 1995 and 1996 World Championships and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer .
