Angela Kolb-Janssen (* 22. October 1963 in Halle an der Saale as Angela Kolb ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She was Minister of Justice from 2006 to 2016 , and from 2011 to 2016 Minister for Equality for the State of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

After graduating from high school in Halle (Saale) in 1982, Angela Kolb-Janssen completed a law degree at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg , which she completed in 1986 as a lawyer. This was followed by research studies at the Institute for International Legal Relations at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, which she obtained in 1989 with a doctorate (dissertation A) as Dr. jur. finished with the work The legal design of financial control in universal and socialist international organizations . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International Studies at the University of Leipzig until 1991. She then moved to the State Office for the settlement of open property issues in Halle (Saale). After working as a part-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Justice of the State of Saxony-Anhalt since 1994 , she was appointed professor for administrative law here in 1999 . From 2004 to 2006 she was dean of the administrative sciences department at the Harz University of Applied Sciences in Halberstadt.

She married in December 2015 and has been using the double name Kolb-Janssen ever since. She has a daughter from her first marriage.

Angela Kolb-Janssen has been a member of the working group of social democratic lawyers since 1999 and also became a member of the SPD in 2003. She was a member of the Federal Party Council of the SPD.

After the formation of a government coalition of the SPD and CDU after the state elections in 2006 , Angela Kolb-Janssen was appointed Minister of Justice to the state government of Saxony-Anhalt led by Prime Minister Wolfgang Böhmer on April 24, 2006 ( Böhmer II cabinet ).

In the state elections in 2011 , Kolb-Janssen entered the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt via the SPD's state list . The coalition of CDU and SPD was continued, Kolb-Janssen, as Minister for Justice and Equality, also became a member of the new state government ( Haseloff I cabinet ).

In 2011 Kolb-Janssen was chair of the Justice Ministers' Conference .

In the state elections in 2016 , she moved back into the state parliament via the state list. She is the spokesperson for education, culture and equality.

criticism

In September 2015 it became known that Kolb-Janssen had programs of the radio broadcaster Radio SAW financed from tax revenues in October 2014 and at the end of June 2015. Kolb-Janssen was interviewed in detail in each of the two programs. The Ministry of Justice confirmed payments with the aim of initiating broadcasts on desired topics. There was no reference to the state funding of the programs. The Sachsen-Anhalt media authority is examining the process.

Social Commitment

She is on the federal executive board of the German Association of Women Lawyers and member of the regional group advisory board in the German Association of Women Lawyers. She is a member of the board of the Lebenshilfe Magdeburg and the presidium of the AWO state association Saxony-Anhalt.
