Angelo Damiano (born September 30, 1938 in Barra , Naples ) is a former Italian track cyclist .

Angelo Damiano was a specialist in short-term disciplines on the track. In 1963 he was together with Sergio Bianchetto Italian champion in the tandem race . Also in 1963 he won the Copenhagen Grand Prix , one of the most traditional sprint tournaments in the world. The following year, he won together with Bianchetto, who four years earlier Olympic champion in this discipline together with Giuseppe Beghetto had become the gold medal in the tandem at the Olympic Games in Tokyo . In the semifinals, they prevailed against the German duo Willi Fuggerer and Klaus Kobusch , who were disqualified in the third and decisive run for leaving the line in the final sprint. In 1967 Damiano was third in the sprint at the World Railroad Championships in Amsterdam .

After the end of his active cycling career, Angelo Damiano held various positions as a cycling official in Italy, including the National Olympic Committee of Italy (CONI) and the organization of the Giro d'Italia . He also continues to race in his age category.
