Vladimir Ivanovich Semenez
Vladimir Ivanovich Semenez , also Volodymyr Ivanovych Semenets , ( Russian Владимир Иванович Семенец ; born January 9, 1950 in Wolsk ) is a former Soviet track cyclist and Olympic champion.
In 1972, Vladimir Semenez started at the Olympic Games in Munich and won the gold medal in tandem races with Igor Tschenowalnikow . The national championship of the Soviet Union in the tandem race both won that year.
In the following years, Semenez reached the podium four times at the UCI track world championships in tandem races: in 1973 and 1974 he was vice world champion (with Viktor Kopylov ), in 1976 third (with Anatolij Jablunowskyj ) and again in 1977 with vice world champion (with Alexander Voronin ).
