In addition to the north ring with a length of 33 kilometers and the south ring with a length of 31 kilometers, the outer ring can be driven over a length of 40 kilometers and the 10-kilometer crossway. Overall, the Annaberger Landring has a total length of approx. 50 kilometers. The entire cycling and hiking trail is consistently signposted and depending on the weather, can be used permanently. The north ring has a length of 33 kilometers. Starting from Arnsfeld , the seat of the association for the development of the Annaberger Land eV region, the north ring runs as a cross path together with the south ring to the west past the Fuchshöhe . After crossing the Rauschenbachtal , the upper village of Mildenau is reached. Then the north ring leaves the south ring east of Königswalde and runs clockwise to the north. It is located up to Geyersdorf in the Pöhlwasser valley. In Geyersdorf, the north ring leads uphill to the east in the direction of the central village of Mildenau, where the Sandbach is crossed a second time . Now the way across fields on the east side Mildenau by over Mauerberg gen Streckewalde in the Valley of Preßnitz. From Streckewalde, the route of the former narrow-gauge railway Selva – Jöhstadt , which has been converted into a cycle path, is used. In a southerly direction the villages of Boden and Niederschmiedeberg are passed. In Mittelschmiedeberg , the north and south ring meet again, where, as a cross path out of the Preßnitz valley, uphill towards the west, they reach the upper village of Arnsfeld again.

When driving on the north ring, circular and local roads have to be passed occasionally. Furthermore, the route cuts or touches cycle and hiking trails such as the E3 hiking trail and the Zschopautal cycle path . The route entry is flexible in many places. We recommend starting points, for example, at the hiking car parks in Streckewalde, Boden, Niederschmiedeberg, Obermildenau, Königswalde, Mildenau, Geyersdorf and the Wiesenbad thermal baths . A feeder route leads from the latter via Plattenthal to Mildenau or Geyersdorf.

The south ring has a length of 31 kilometers. It is located up to Brettmühle in the Pöhlwasser valley. In the district belonging to Königswalde, the Südring leaves the Pöhlwasser valley. It now runs in the valley of the Conduppelbach past the Gypsy rock to the Berghof near the Czech border. Now the Südring follows the road to Jöhstadt to the east . Now the Südring runs to the northeast in the valley of the Jöhstädter Schwarzwassers and from Schmalzgrube in the valley of the Preßnitz parallel to the route of the narrow-gauge railway Wolkenstein – Jöhstadt, which is operated today as the “Preßnitztalbahn”. The Jöhstadt districts Schlössel , Schmalzgrube and Steinbach are passed. From Steinbach the Südring is back on the former Bahnstrasse. The cycle path then continues north through Oberschmiedeberg . In Mittelschmiedeberg , the north and south ring meet again, where, as a cross path out of the Preßnitz valley, uphill towards the west, they reach the upper village of Arnsfeld again.

When driving on the Südring, you occasionally have to cross circular and local roads. Only in the area of the Conduppelbachtal near the Zigeunerfelsen is a very steep, technically demanding section of the route, criss-crossed by numerous longitudinal and transverse roots. The route entry is flexible in many places. We recommend starting, for example, at the hiking car parks in Steinbach, Jöhstadt, Brettmühle, Königswalde, or Obermildenau.
