The closest neighboring towns are in the northwest on the voivodship road Łykowo (Leikow) , in the northeast Mierzyn (Alt Marrin) in the southeast Daszewo (Dassow) and in the southwest beyond the voivodship road Poczernino (Putzernin) .

history

Zürkow was first mentioned in 1227. At that time, Duke Barnim I of Pomerania and his mother Miroslawa von Pommerellen donated several villages to the Marienbusch Monastery , which was founded in 1224 , including the village then called "Surkowic". Zürkow later appeared in the possession of the Belbuck monastery .

On the Lubin map from 1618 the village is entered as "Sukow".

At least since the 17th century, Zürkow's property was divided into two parts:

Zürkow A consisted of four farming positions and was a fiefdom of the noble Blankenburg family . In 1767 the owners of Zürkow A sold the four farms to three freemen named Hans Schünemann, Joachim Christian Schünemann and Jacob Conrad.

Zürkow B consisted of two farm positions. For a long time it shared the ownership history of the neighboring cleaner . Before the Reformation, both belonged to the Kolberg Cathedral Chapter , became a fiefdom of the noble von Damitz family , were then given as fiefs to Major General Hans Friedrich von Platen (* 1668, † 1743) and were given to Johanna Regina Wißmann by his son Dubislaw von Platen in 1773 sold.

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Zürkow is listed among the noble estates of the Principality of Cammin . At that time there were six farmers and a total of 17 households (“fire places”).

In the 19th century, the character of Zürkow changed radically: the farms disappeared and a single large estate was created. After several changes of ownership, a Werner von Sanden bought the Zürkow estate after the First World War and owned it until 1945.

For a long time Zürkow formed its own manor district , which covered an area of 430 hectares (as of 1925). With the dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia, the manor district of Zürkow was incorporated into the rural community of Leikow in 1929 , as was the neighboring manor district of Putzernin .

Until 1945, Zürkow belonged as part of the rural community of Leikow to the Kolberg-Körlin district in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

In 1945 Zürkow came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The population was evicted and replaced by Poles . The place name was Polonized to "Syrkowice".

Today the village belongs to Gmina Karlino (town and country municipality of Körlin) , in which it forms its own Schulzenamt , to which Poczernino (cleaning woman) also belongs.
