Brzeźno (Karlino)

Brzeźno (German Hoppekathen ) is a residential area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . He belongs to the Gmina Karlino (city and rural community Körlin) in the powiat Białogardzki (Belgarder Kreis) .

The residential area, which consists of a few houses, is located in Western Pomerania , about 110 km northeast of Stettin . Woiwodschaftsstraße 163 , whose course corresponds to the former Reichsstraße 124 , runs through the residential area . The village of Daszewo (Dassow) is located about 1 km northeast of the residential area . The river Persante flows about 0.5 km west of the residential area, and the Neustettin – Kolberg railway line runs about 0.5 km east .

The residential area was created at the end of the 19th century as a group of four extensions to the village of Dassow . He received the name "Hoppekathen" after the family name of one of the four farm owners, who was called Hoppe . Before 1945, Hoppekathen belonged as part of the Dassow community to the Kolberg-Körlin district in the Prussian province of Pomerania . "Hoppekathen" was entered on the official measurement table ; However, it was not officially listed as a special residential area for the community.

In 1945 the place, like all of the Pomerania, came to Poland. The population was replaced by Poles. Hoppekathen received the Polish name Brzeźno .

Today the place belongs to the Gmina Karlino (town and country municipality Körlin) and there to the Schulzenamt Daszewo (Dassow).
