Wietszyno (German Johannesthal ) is a no longer inhabited place ( desert ) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

The desert is located in Western Pomerania , about 15 kilometers southeast of the city of Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) and three kilometers northwest of the village of Karścino (Kerstin) .

history

Johannesthal was once a Vorwerk of the Kerstin estate . It emerged from the former Jarmel des Kerstiner sheep farm , which was expanded into a farm in 1773. At the same time, the Gaudecker estate set the new name Johannesthal .

The Vorwerk Johannesthal belonged to the Kerstin estate for a long time . With the dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia, it was incorporated into the municipality of Kerstin in 1928. With this it belonged to the district of Kolberg-Körlin in the administrative district of Köslin of the Prussian province of Pomerania until 1945 .

After the end of the Second World War , Johannesthal was placed under Polish administration in 1945, like all of Western Pomerania. The place was initially renamed "Gorzeszewo". This name was based on the place name “Goressowe”, which appears in a document from Bishop Hermann von Gleichen from 1276 for a village that was not mentioned later and that was probably to be searched for in this area. The place was later renamed "Wietszyno".

The place is now in the area of Gmina Karlino (town and country municipality Körlin) , which belongs to the powiat Białogardzki (Belgarder Kreis) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship . The place temporarily formed its own Schulzenamt . Today the place is no longer inhabited and is incorporated into the Pobłocie Wielkie Schulzenamt (Groß Pobloth) .

Ecclesiastically Johannesthal was parish before 1945 in the Protestant parish Kerstin in the parish of Belgard in the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
