history

New Marrin was created around 1830: The Marrin manor had been divided into Marrin A and Marrin B for a long time. A Joachim Friedrich Scheunemann was the owner of both shares. He had the manor allodified in 1820 and set up his own farm about 1 ½ kilometers south of Marrin for the Marrin B portion of the manor . After his death in 1832, his son Ferdinand Scheunemann took over Marrin B, his other son Marrin A. The new farm was named "Neu Marrin", the previous Marrin was renamed " Alt Marrin " to differentiate .

With the formation of political manor districts in Prussia, Neu Marrin formed its own manor district. The Neu Marrin manor district comprised 293 ha (status 1864) to 299 ha (status 1925). With the dissolution of the manor districts in Prussia, the Neu Marrin manor district was incorporated into the rural community of Rüwolsdorf in 1929 , as was the neighboring Alt Marrin manor district .

The Neu Marrin estate belonged to the Scheunemann family until 1945.

Until 1945 Neu Marrin belonged as part of the rural community of Rüwolsdorf to the Kolberg-Körlin district in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

In 1945 Neu Marrin, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. The population was evicted and replaced by Poles . The place name was Polonized to "Mierzynek".

Today the village belongs to the Gmina Karlino (town and country municipality of Körlin) , in which it forms its own Schulzenamt .
