National team
In 1991 and 1992 she played eleven games with the Danish U-17 team , including the Nordic Cup , which the Danish juniors won in 1992. Between 1993 and 1994 there were 16 games for the U-21 team, some of them in the Nordic Cup in the older age group. During this time, she made her first international match on August 15, 1993 in the European Championship qualifier against Lithuania , which was their first international match for the Lithuanians and in which the Danes achieved their first double-digit victory. She was substituted on in the 62nd minute when the score was 5-0 and eight minutes later she scored the 7-0 with her first international goal (final score 11-0). In March 1994 she took part in the first edition of the Algarve Cup , in which the Danes lost the game for third place with 0-1 against Sweden . She was substituted on again in each of the three games. On May 4, 1994 she was in the starting line-up for the first time in a 5-2 draw against Norway . In the next game she was not used, but after that she was a regular player, reached the final at the second edition of the Algarve Cup in 1995 (2: 3 defeat after extra time against Sweden) and was also part of the Danish squad that played at the World Cup 1995 participated. She played the full distance in the three group matches and the quarter-finals, scored her first World Cup goal in a 5-0 win against Australia, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against eventual world champions Norway. By reaching the quarter-finals, however, the Danes had qualified for the first women's Olympic soccer tournament at the Olympic Games in Atlanta , in which they also took part. She was in the starting line-up in two group games and was substituted on in the second group game at the second half. Since all three games were lost, the Danes were eliminated after the group stage. After that, the Danes were never able to qualify for the Olympic Games again (as of 2016). Her next major tournament was the 1997 European Championship , where she played the full distance in the three group matches. As the bottom of the group, the Danes were eliminated in the preliminary round.
In 1998 she reached the final of the Algarve Cup with Denmark for the second time , but lost it 1: 4 against Norway . In 1999 she played all games in the Algarve Cup , but then she was not considered for the World Cup in the USA and the 2001 European Championship in Germany . It was not until March 1, 2002 that she was used again in the first group game of the Algarve Cup in the second half against Germany. It was their only appearance at the tournament, followed by another 18-month international break, in which the Danes missed qualifying for the 2003 World Cup . It was not until September 7, 2003 that she was used again in a test match for the Swedes for the World Cup, and on October 5, 2003, she scored her only “three-pack” in the national dress in the European Championship qualifier against Belgium when she scored the 1-0, 5 : 1 and 6: 1 final score. From then until the end of her career she was missing in only five games and took part in the 2005 European Championships and the 2007 World Cup, in which the Danes were eliminated in the preliminary round.
On March 26, 2006, she made her 100th international match against Belgium as the fifth Dane to qualify for the World Cup . Her 118th and last international match she played on November 28, 2007 in the Olympic qualification against Sweden. Since both teams were eliminated in the preliminary round of the 2007 World Cup, they had to make the third European starting place for the Olympic Games in Beijing in the two legs. The Danes lost both games and missed an Olympic football tournament again, but avoided being spied on by the hosts again.
