Gottfried Hansjakob (* 1937 ) is an Austrian landscape architect .

Life

After attending the Schönbrunn School of Horticulture in Vienna , Hansjakob worked as an employee in the office of the landscape architect Günther Schulze in Hamburg . In 1962 he set up his own office for landscape architecture in Munich , which his brother Anton “Toni” Hansjakob (1943–2016) also joined the following year.

The office took part in over 200 architectural competitions, in which it was awarded 80 first prizes and around 60 other prizes and acquisitions. One of his most important projects was the design of the Rheinaupark in Bonn for the 1979 Federal Garden Show, including the development of the associated master plan. Gottfried's temporary employees included the architect Paul Böhm, who later became independent .

As of 2000, the office's activities were reduced and limited to selected projects that the two owners are working on with former employees. In 2007 Hansjakob received honorary membership in the Association of German Landscape Architects (BDLA).
