Life
Kaindl was born as the son of Kistler journeyman and piano maker Anton Kaindl sen. and his wife Sophie Silbernagel was born. He grew up in Munich and showed artistic talent at an early age. After graduating from school, he studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Art in Munich .
At the turn of the 20th century, he created numerous war memorials , especially in the Munich area , which were created in memory of the fallen in the German War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 and earned him the nickname " Soldiers-Kaindl" .
His most famous works include the war memorials on Rotkreuzplatz in Munich and in Kolbermoor as well as the Schmied-von-Kochel monument in Kochel am See . In cooperation with Hygin Kiene , the large Tilly monument and the Oberland monument in Waakirchen were created on the market square in Rain am Lech in 1914 , with the lion on a lance by Hygin Kiene and the four reliefs on the base with scenes from the Sendling Christmas Murder Christmas by Anton Kaindl .
Together with Hygin Kiene, Kaindl created the extensive figure cycle at the St. Johann town hall in Saarbrücken , which Georg von Hauberisser had designed based on the New Town Hall in Munich.
For the parish church Maria Immaculata in Dietelskirchen he created the 14 stations of the cross, the depiction of the souls of the poor and the figures of the apostles in the presbytery. The parish church of St. Martin and St. Maria Magdalena in Obertaufkirchen was decorated with neo- Rococo stucco.
On July 20, 1922, Kaindl suffered a heart attack while climbing the Benediktenwand , his favorite mountain. He was buried in the Munich forest cemetery.
