Anton Lindholm (born November 29, 1994 in Skellefteå ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League since May 2016 and for their farm team , the Colorado Eagles , in the American Hockey League's position Defender plays.

Career

Lindholm comes from the offspring of Skellefteå AIK , the club in his hometown. For the professional team, the defender made his debut in the Elitserien during the 2011/12 season . At the end of the 2013/14 season he finally established himself as a regular player and celebrated winning the Swedish championship with the team that same season . After the game year he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2014 in the fifth round in 144th position by the Colorado Avalanche from the National Hockey League .

Before moving to North America, Lindholm stayed in Skellefteå for two more years and celebrated two more runners-up titles before he was signed by the Avalanche in May 2016. They used him in the American Hockey League on their farm team , the San Antonio Rampage , in the course of the 2016/17 season until March 2017 . In the middle of the month, the Swede was appointed to the Colorado NHL squad.

International

For his home country Lindholm played for the first time at the World Cup in Russia in 2016 at a major international tournament. Lindholm was used in three tournament games and finally reached sixth place with the Tre Kronor .
