Anton Michailowitsch Tschupkow ( Russian Антон Михайлович Чупков ; born February 22, 1989 in Moscow ) is a Russian swimmer .

Life

Tschupkow has been a member of the Russian national youth team since 2013. He was the flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. Two years later he won the bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In 2017 in Budapest and in 2019 in Gwangju he was world champion in the same discipline and European champion in Glasgow in 2018 .

Since June 26, 2019, he has held the world record for the 200 m chest with 2: 06.12 minutes. He has the rank of ensign in the Russian army.
