Anton Reimer

Anton Reimer (born February 25, 1904 in Prague , † November 17, 1970 in Munich ) was a German actor , radio play and voice actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, Reimer first completed a law degree at the German University in Prague . The doctorate to Dr. iur. He also took acting lessons from Fritz Bogyansky in Prague. In 1929 he made his stage debut as secretary in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Der Schwierige at the Deutsches Theater in Prague. After his first engagement in Prague, Reimer went to the United Theater in Breslau from 1931 to 1933 before returning to Prague as the first young character actor and comedian for five more years. During the Second World War, his artistic career took him to Munich, where he played at the Volkstheater from 1940 to 1950 and at the Kammerspiele from 1954 . In the course of his stage career Reimer has embodied numerous classical roles: In Prague, for example, he was as "Junker von Bleichenwang" in William Shakespeare's Was ihr wollt , as "Schlender" in Joseph von Eichendorff's Die Freier and as "Leon" in Franz Grillparzer's Weh dem, der lies (always in Prague), in Breslau as "Brackenburg" in Goethe's Egmont , in Munich he played the "Schnoferl" in Johann Nepomuk Nestroy's girl from the suburbs , the "Zwirn" in Nestroy's Lumpazivagabundus , the "Alpenkönig" in Ferdinand Raimunds Alpenkönig and misanthropist, the "Sakini" in John Patricks Das kleine Teehaus and was part of the cast of the German premiere of Jean Anouilh's Passenger Without Luggage .

As early as 1941 he took on an early film role in Alois Johannes Lippl's Alert Level V. In the 1950s and 1960s he played in numerous television productions such as Fritz Umgelter's multi-part war drama As Far Your Feet , August Everding's The Successor and Paul Verhoevens Mamsell Nitouche . He also took on guest roles in television series such as Graf Yoster gives himself the honor and The strange methods of Franz Josef Wanninger . In the series The guests of Felix Hechinger he even played a continuous role as "Magnus Braun". Since 1948 Reimer has also worked extensively as a speaker for radio plays and dubbing. As a voice actor he lent his voice to Louis de Funès in The Ladies Ask , Fantomas against Interpol and Spicy Things for Monsieur , Alec Guinness in The Strange Ways of Father Brown , Donald Crisp in The Adventures of Mark Twain , Jean Saudray as Ben Gunn , among others in the four-part adventure game Treasure Island , Herbert Lom in The Rat from Soho and Al St. John as Fuzzy in various westerns.

Reimer was married to the actress Margot Berger. He died on November 17, 1970 at the age of 66 and found his final resting place in the Haidhausen cemetery.
