Antonio Brancaccio

Antonio Brancaccio (* 12. February 1923 in Maddaloni , province of Caserta ; † 26. August 1995 in Göttingen ) was an Italian judge and non-party politicians .

Life

Brancaccio studied after school law was after graduation ( Laurea in giurisprudenza appointed judge) and rose last from 1986 to 1995 as president of the Corte Suprema di Cassazione (Supreme Court of Cassation) on the highest court of general jurisdiction of Italy.

On January 17, 1995, the non-party Brancaccio became Minister of the Interior and kept this office until his replacement for health reasons on June 8, 1995, but remained as a minister without portfolio member in the cabinet of Prime Minister Lamberto Dini .

Most recently he was being treated in a hospital in Göttingen, where he died shortly afterwards of a brain tumor .
