The Antoniuskirche is a Roman Catholic church at ul. Glowackiego in the district Wójtowa Wieś (Richtersdorf) in Gliwice (Gleiwitz).

history

The church was built in the modern style with references to neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic. The church tower is 67 meters high and has a viewing platform. Construction began on June 30, 1925, and the church was completed in 1927.

Fallen memorial

At the church there is a monument made of shell limestone for the fallen soldiers of the First World War from Richtersdorf with a sculpture of St. George. The memorial was created by the Gleiwitz sculptor Hanns Breitenbach . There were several inscriptions on the column of the monument, including the names of the 160 fallen. The inauguration took place on June 21, 1931. The inscriptions were all knocked out after 1945. In recent times the monument has been restored and some of the inscriptions have been restored.
