history

Until the beginning of the 20th century, the Protestants of Laband were looked after by clergy from Gleiwitz. Construction of a Protestant church for Laband began in 1900 and the church was consecrated in 1902. For the 25th anniversary of the church it was restored and the anniversary was celebrated with a feast day on Sunday, September 25th, 1927. On this occasion, Superintendent General D. Zänker appeared, who gave the sermon. In addition, a conference of Protestant women's aid took place.

After the Soviet army marched into Laband, the church was confiscated by the Soviets and used as a forge. In 1948 the Protestants were able to win back the church. After another renovation, a solemn service with Bishop Jan Szeruda took place on October 16, 1949. In 2002 the community celebrated its 100th anniversary.
