Arild Gilbert Sundgot (born April 17, 1978 in Ulsteinvik ) is a Norwegian football player . The striker denied in his career for IL Hødd and Lillestrøm SK over 300 games in the Tippeligaen . With over 100 goals for Lillestrøm SK, he is the best first division goalscorer in the club's history.
Career
Sundgot comes from the youth of IL Hødd . In 1995 he made his debut for the club in the Tippeligaen , but at the end of the year he rose with the team in the second division . In 1997 he moved back to the first division and joined the Lillestrøm SK . Initially a supplementary player under coach Even Pellerud , he achieved his breakthrough under his successor Arne Erlandsen in the 1998 season . At the same time, he played his way into the youth national teams of Norway, but did not make an A-international appearance .
In the following years Sundgot was regularly one of the club's top scorers, who placed primarily in the front midfield of the league. In the 2004 season he also placed 14 goals this season tied with Olivier Occéan behind top scorer Frode Johnsen and Alexander Ødegaard among the top three goalscorers of the national championship. In mid-October of the following year he scored his 64th first division goal for the club, drawing level with Tom Lund , the previous record holder at LSK. With eleven goals this season, he finished fourth in the goalscorer list.
2006 Sundgot missed on the side of Heinz Müller , Robert Koren , Khaled Mouelhi and Bjørn Helge Riise under coach Uwe Rösler just barely his first title win when he reached the final of the Royal League 2005/06 with the team . Not in action there due to injury, the team lost the game against FC Copenhagen with a goal by Razak Pimpong shortly before the end of the game with a 0-1 defeat. The following year turned out to be more successful. Although failed on penalties in the quarter-finals of the Royal League against Odense BK before the start of the season , he led the club to fourth place in the table at the end of the 2007 season with ten goals this season. He also scored four goals on the way to the cup final . In the 2-0 win over FK Haugesund with a double from Olivier Occean, he was initially on the bench before replacing Magnus Mykleust from the 58th minute onwards.
In the 2009 season Sundgot scored again in double digits, his eleventh goal of the season was also his hundredth goal for LSK in the Tippeligaen. Although Anthony Ujah ran out of his club-internal rank as top scorer in the following year, the club extended his contract for two more years after the end of the season.
