Armin Behrendt
Armin Behrendt (born June 29, 1934 in Osterode in East Prussia ) is a German journalist and former functionary of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD) - a bloc party in the German Democratic Republic (GDR). From 1986 to 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber .
Life
Behrendt, the son of a carpenter put, 1953 in Grevesmühlen the high school down, then studied until 1957 History at the Humboldt University in Berlin and acquired the academic degree of diploma historian . In 1958 he joined the LDPD. In 1957 Behrendt became an editor in the politics department of the LDPD central organ Der Morgen . In 1966 he was personal assistant to the Liberal Democratic Party chairman Manfred Gerlach and remained so until 1982. In 1968 he was with a thesis on Wilhelm Külz to Dr. phil. PhD .
On December 11, 1981, Behrendt was co-opted into the central board of the LDPD at the 16th meeting of the central board and was elected by the latter as secretary of the central board (successor to Gerhard Lindner ). From 1982 he was a member of the Presidential Council of the Kulturbund der GDR , the Executive Committee of the League for the United Nations in the GDR and the Committee for European Security and Cooperation. At the 13th party congress of the LDPD in April 1982 Behrendt was elected a member of the Political Affairs Committee and again as Secretary of the LDPD Central Executive Committee. From 1986 to March 1990 Behrendt was a member of the People's Chamber and a member of its committee for foreign affairs.
After the merger of the LDPD with the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD), Behrendt belonged to the Bund Free Democrats , which joined the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in August 1990 . From April to October 1990, Behrendt was a managing board member of the Society for Liberal Politics together with Hans-Dieter Raspe . From 1991 Behrendt was an employee of the educational center of the FDP-affiliated Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Buenos Aires .
