Artur Witalijowytsch Piwchenko ( Ukrainian Артур Віталійович Півченко , born  October 1, 1991 ) is a Ukrainian billiard player from Zaporizhia , who competes in the billiard variant Russian billiards . In 2016 he was runner-up in the Free Pyramid discipline .

Career

Artur Piwtschenko began at the age of ten years with the billiards . After he was eliminated in the quarter-finals in 2006 and 2007, he won his only medal at the European Junior Championships in 2008 , when he had to admit defeat to eventual tournament winner Sergei Pletnew ( 6-7 ) in the semifinals . In the same year he formed together with Shanna Schmattschenko and Jaroslaw Tarnowezkyj the Ukrainian team that won bronze at the Team World Cup .

In 2010 Piwchenko took part in the European Cup. At the first tournament he made it to the quarter-finals, but he was eliminated early in the three following European Cup tournaments. In October he reached the round of 16 at the Kremlin Cup . A few days later he played for the first time in a world championship in Willingen . He won his first five World Cup games, including against Andrei Freise , Dauren Urynbajew and Oleh Matschtakow , and only had to admit defeat to Kazakh Alibek Omarow 5-6 in the quarter-finals . At the European Championships , he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the later European champion Andrei Freise (1: 6). At the end of the year he won the final tournament of the European Cup with a 7-4 victory in the final against his compatriot Kostjantyn Kulyk .

In July 2011 Piwchenko reached the semifinals at the second tournament of the Prince Open , in which he lost 4-5 to Anton Netessow . A little later he won the Ostrowski Cup in the final against Valery Karakai (6-2). In August he defeated Yaroslav Tarnovetskyj in the final of the Ukrainian Independence Cup (7: 3). Shortly thereafter, he won the FBSU open championship in the final against Oleksandr Boiko (6-2). In October he made it to the quarter-finals again at the Free Pyramid World Cup in Kiev , in which he had led 3-0 and 5-3 against his compatriot Jaroslaw Wynokur , but was finally beaten 5-6 by the eventual world champion had to. At the Yevgeny Samodurov Cup 2011 in Yekaterinburg he was third. At the end of the year he won the final tournament of the Ukrainian Cup by beating Kostjantyn Kulyk 2-0 in the final.

At the final tournament of the Ukrainian Cup, he was eliminated in the round of 16.

In 2013 Piwchenko started with third places in the Kirov million tournament as well as in the Ukrainian Cup and the Sagida Murtasalijewa Cup. In April he succeeded in defending his title at the Sporthall Cup with a 10-1 final victory over Yuri Pashchinsky . A few days later he reached the final of the Robitex Cup and lost 4-6 against Dmytro Biloserow . In the following weeks he won the Vyacheslav Schmigelsko Cup (7: 3 against Wladyslaw Kossohow ) and the Iceberg Cup in Schebekino (7: 4 against Oleksandr Palamar) and reached the round of 64 at the Moscow Mayor 's Cup . In July 2013 he reached the second round at the Dynamic Pyramid World Cup and lost to eventual world champion Sergei Tusow (4: 6). In the Free Pyramid he lost after an opening win against Yevgeny Nasarenko (7: 0) in the second round against Viktor Loktew (2: 7). In October he reached the semi-finals of the Mayor's Cup in Vladivostok . A little later he made it to the semifinals of the Kremlin Cup for the first time, in which, however, he had to admit defeat to eventual tournament winner Wladislaw Osminin 5-0. In December he won the Prince Open in the final against Jaroslaw Tarnowezkyj (7: 4).

After finishing third again in the Kirov million tournament in 2014, he reached the semi-finals of the Moscow Mayor's Cup, which was part of the World Cup this year, in which he was defeated 4-6 by the eventual tournament winner Vladislav Osminin. In July 2014 he won his second win at the Ukrainian Cup in the final against Mark Pleschko (7-3). A little later he reached the semifinals at the European Championships and was narrowly defeated by the later European champion Sergei Kryzhanovsky ( 5-6 ). In August 2014, when he took part in the Combined Pyramid World Cup for the first time, he reached the round of 32, in which he narrowly lost to Jewhen Palamar ( 5-6 ). In 2014 he reached the quarter-finals for the first time in the Dynamic Pyramid and was defeated by the eventual world champion Kanybek Sagynbajew (2: 6). Shortly afterwards he won the Ajara Open in the final against Wladyslaw Derewjanko (6: 3) and reached the round of 16 of the Kremlin Cup. At the Free Pyramid World Cup 2014 , he was eliminated in the round of 32 against eventual world champion Sergei Kryzhanovsky (5-6). At the end of the year he managed to defend his title at the Prince Open with a 7-3 final win against his compatriot Artem Moisejenko .

In his tenth World Cup participation, Piwchenko had to accept a preliminary round for the first time in early 2015. He had won his opening game against Nurbek Eschbajew , but then lost to Sergei Kryzhanovsky and Suchriddin Chaschimow and thus missed the final round for the first time. Despite the false start, 2015 was a very successful year for him: In May he won the Moscow Mayor's Cup with a 7-1 win against Alexander Muravyov , in July he became Asian champion with a 7-0 final win against Sergei Kryzhanovsky and in September he celebrated his third tournament win of the year at the Empire Cup after a 7-5 win against Oleksandr Palamar. A few days after he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Dauren Urynbajew (3: 7) at the Dynamic Pyramid World Cup , he won his fourth tournament within six months in October when he defeated Oleksandr Palamar 6: 1 in the final of the Savvidi Cup. At the Kremlin Cup, however, he was eliminated again in the round of 16, this time against Sergei Kryzhanovsky. In November he reached the final of the Prince Open for the third time in a row, but after his victories in the previous two years he had to admit defeat to the Russian Nikita Liwada 4-7. At the Free Pyramid World Cup , Piwchenko did not get past the round of 32 for the third time in a row at the end of the year, losing to Arbi Muziyev (1: 7) in the round of 32 .

At the beginning of 2016, Piwchenko took third place at the superfinal of the World Championships , an invitation tournament for the ten best players from the World Championships last year. In March he became the first Ukrainian champion in the combined pyramid in the final against Wladyslaw Kossohow (6: 5) . A little later he was eliminated from the world championship in this discipline after a 4: 6 opening defeat against Oleg Yerkulew . For the fourth time in a row he made it into the final at the Prince Open in 2016, this time he just lost to Sergei Kryzhanovsky (5-6). After 2014 he won the Ajara Open for the second time in June 2016, in the final he prevailed 7: 5 against Jauhen Kurta . In the same year he reached the last sixteen at the Savvidi Cup and the Empire Cup and the sixteenth finals at the Kremlin Cup. In December 2016 he made it into the final of the Free Pyramid World Cup for the first time, in which he had to admit defeat to Kazakh Älichan Qaranejew 6: 7.

In March 2017 Piwchenko won the Elite Professional Open in Vinnytsia in the final against Pavlo Radionov (5: 3). A little later, after 2013, he won the Schmigelsko Cup for the second time, defeating Wladyslaw Kossohow 5-2 in the final. At the Combined Pyramid World Cup he retired after a 6: 3 first round win against Akseli Matikkala in the sixteenth finals with 3: 6 against Ysat Ratbekow . In the summer of 2017 he reached the quarter-finals of the Moscow Mayor's Cup, the second round of the Ajara Open and the quarter-finals of the Kremlin Cup. At the Savvidi Cup, however, he was eliminated in the round of the last 64. In the same year he won the first two tournaments of the UBA Cup 2017/18. In October 2017 he became Ukrainian champion in the Free Pyramid for the first time with a 7-3 final win against Volodymyr Perkun .

At the Elite Profi Open 2018 there was a new edition of the previous year's final, in which Pavlo Radionow took revenge with a 5-2 victory. After Piwtschenko was eliminated already in the Round of 64 at the Moscow Mayor Cup, he was 2017/18 third in the final tournament of the UBA Cup and reached the Telavi Open in Georgian Telavi the quarterfinals, where he later tournament winner Mikhail Zarjow just under 5: 6 subject. In September 2018 he won the Empire Cup for the second time after 2015. In the final, he had defeated the reigning world champion Iossif Abramow 5-3.
