In March 2014, he won the Sagid Murtasalijew Cup in Kislyar by beating Alexander Muravyov in the final. In August he reached the semi-finals in Cholponata at the World Youth Championships in the Combined Pyramid, in which he lost 5-0 to the eventual world champion Dastan Lepschakow . In the Free Pyramid he reached the quarter-finals at the World Youth Championship and remained without a win at the Men's World Championship when he lost 4-5 in the preliminary round against Pavlo Radionov and Valeryj Tschyschou . At the end of the year he achieved his greatest success to date when he defeated Alexander Murawjow, Artur Piwtschenko and Aleh Retschyz at the Savvidi Cup , the most highly endowed tournament in Russian billiards, and only failed in the semifinals against later tournament winner Gleb Waschtschenkow .

2015–2017: First world championship title

In early 2015, Abramov again won the Sagid Murtasalijew Cup, this time with a 4-0 final win against Leonid Schwyrjajew . After regularly participating in the World Cup from 2014, but always retiring early, he won his first World Cup medal in April 2015 when he reached the semi-finals of the Prince Open , where he lost 3-5 to Nikita Liwada . At the European Championships, however, he was eliminated in the round of 32. Two weeks later he reached the semi-finals of the Stavropol Cup. After he was eliminated early on several times, including at the Savvidi Cup 2015 , he moved into the semifinals again at the 2015 World Cup final and was defeated by the eventual tournament winner Nikita Liwada.

In 2016 Abramov reached the round of 16 in the Dynamic Pyramid and the semi-finals in the Free Pyramid at the World Youth Championships , which he only just lost to Semyon Saizew ( 5-6 ). In August 2016, he reached the final of the Kropotkin Open and was only barely defeated by Aleksandr Sidorov ( 5-6 ). In the following months he suffered early defeats in some tournaments, only at the Andrei Kasjanow Open he reached the quarter-finals. In November 2016, he became youth world champion in the Free Pyramid with a 6: 3 final victory against Semjon Saizew and a few days later won the final of the World Cup in the final against Alexei Shoschin (6: 0).

Since 2018: Second world title

At the beginning of 2018, Abramov reached the semifinals of the Russian Championship in the Combined Pyramid and the Mayor's Cup in Kaliningrad . In April he took part in the World Cup in the Dynamic Pyramid for the first time and moved into the final, in which he had to admit defeat to Ukrainian Dmytro Biloserow 5-7 . After he was eliminated early on at the Mayor's Cup in Moscow, he reached the final in three tournaments in the summer of 2018 within a few weeks. First he secured his World Cup victory 6: 5 against Alexander Tschepikow in the Free Pyramid, a little later he won the Ajara Open against Dmytro Biloserow (7: 3) and was narrowly defeated by his compatriot Mikhail Zaryov (6: 7 ) at the Telavi Open ). In September he made it to the semifinals of the Kremlin Cup for the first time, losing to Serghei Krîjanovski . Then he reached the final three times in a row, he lost in the Imperija Cup to Artur Piwtschenko (3: 5) and in the Savvidi Cup to Dastan Lepschakow , before he won the World Cup final for the second time with a 7: 4 final victory against Semyon Saizew . A little later he was eliminated from the Free Pyramid World Cup in the round of 16 against Asis Madaminow .

At the beginning of 2019, Abramov was surprisingly eliminated from the Russian Championship in the Combined Pyramid in the round of 64. In March 2019 he succeeded in defending his title in the same discipline at the World Cup , which had not been held the previous year, when he prevailed 6-2 in the final against Serghei Krîjanovski from Moldova. Abramov was the second player after Yevgeny Stalev ( 2000 ) to win a world title in Russian billiards twice in a row and the first player to do so in this discipline. At the same time, at the age of 17, he became the youngest two-time world champion in Russian billiards. After two early defeats in the World Cup, he won the World Cup tournament in Moscow in June with a 5-4 final victory over Dmytro Biloserow. In August 2019 he made it to the quarter-finals for the first time at the Free Pyramid World Cup in Cholponata , in which he was defeated by Pawel Kuzmin . In September and October he won four tournaments within four weeks. At the Chechen Open in Grozny he defeated Dmytro Biloserow (5: 2), at the Kremlin Cup he prevailed in the final against the Ukrainian Andrij Kljestow with 5: 1, at the Imperija Cup he won against Dastan Lepschakow (5: 4) and At the Friendship Cup in Batumi , Georgia , he defeated Jurij Smyrnow 6: 3. At the Savvidi Cup 2019, however, Abramov was one of the 16 players in the round of 32 seeded players and lost his opening game against Aleksandr Sidorov . At the end of the year he reached the final of the Lemayev Cup, in which he lost 4-6 to Dmitri Shkoda .

At the beginning of 2020, Abramov had to cancel his participation in the Champions Cup in Moscow due to the COVID-19 pandemic . After the tournament had been interrupted for almost three months after two games, the cancellation of Semyon Saizew left a starting place free, which Abramov was able to take because of the now relaxed travel restrictions in Rostov-on-Don. He defeated, among others, Artyom Balow and Dmytro Biloserow and finally moved into the final, in which he prevailed 7-0 against the Kyrgyz Asis Madaminow and was the first Russian to win the Champions Cup.
