Asmushausen is a district of the town of Bebra in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in northeastern Hesse .

Geographical location

The Asmushausen district is located approx. 5 km northeast of the core town of Bebra in the Bebratal , part of the Richelsdorf Mountains . In the west the federal highway 27 , in the east the railway line Göttingen-Bebra leads past the place. Asmushausen borders Bebra in the south, Schwarzenhasel in the west, Rautenhausen in the north and Braunhausen in the east .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document from 1261. In 1939 the village had 403 inhabitants. At that time it belonged to the Rotenburg district . As part of the Hessian territorial and administrative reform , Asmushausen was incorporated into the city of Bebra on December 31, 1971 and has been part of the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district since then .
