August Rudolf Christian Friedrich Perle (born February 7, 1797 in Griesel , † April 6, 1886 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and inspector of the 4th artillery inspection.

Life

August was the son of the pastor of Griesel Christian Gottfried Perle (1749-1804) and his wife Johanna Margarete, born von Sommerfeld († 1814).

Military career

Perle attended school in Frankfurt (Oder) and on June 4, 1813 joined the Cavalry Battery No. 5 of the Brandenburg Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner . During the Wars of Liberation he took part in the battles near Großbeeren , Dennewitz , Leipzig and Laon . For Ligny Perle received the Iron Cross II Class and the Order of St. George V Class. He was also involved in the battles of Wittstock, Namur and the storming of Arnhem, and was promoted to second lieutenant by early June 1815 .

After the war, Perle was transferred to the Guard Artillery Brigade on May 23, 1816 , and from October 1818 was commanded for one year as a training squadron. By the end of May 1829 he became captain . For his participation in the Kalisch revue , Perle received the Order of St. Vladimir IV Class in 1835 . On March 30, 1839 he came to Cologne from the square as an artillery officer , but on May 5, 1839 he was transferred to Torgau in his own capacity . From there he came on June 19, 1842 as major and fifth staff officer in the 3rd Artillery Brigade. There he was department commander from February 27, 1844 to February 12, 1847, after which he was transferred to the 7th Artillery Brigade . On July 5, 1849 he was appointed Brigadier of the 4th Artillery Brigade and in this position Perle rose to colonel until the beginning of December 1851 . After that, from June 3, 1854, he was employed as an inspector of the 4th artillery inspection in Koblenz . Perle was placed à la suite of his previous regiment on July 15, 1854 and promoted to major general on October 15, 1856. Under awarded the Red Eagle , he was on 14 May 1858 II. Class with oak board for disposition made. He died in Berlin on April 6, 1886.

Perle married Karoline Wilhelmine Emilie Riehm (1807–1880), daughter of the rentier Riehm , on July 14, 1858 in Berlin .
