action
Rémi will be 30 years old in six months. He works as a bar pianist for little money and knows that he had always planned to achieve something by his 30th birthday. The reality is different: he can only make ends meet because his long-time friend Martine earns money as a model. However, the relationship is about to end. After an argument with Rémi, Martine is involved in a car accident in which she is killed.
In addition to Rémi, there is also Martine's daughter Marion, who is now 14 years old and whom Rémi has looked after like a father for eight years. Against her will, Marion now has to move in with her biological father Charly, whom she refuses. After a while, she moves back to Rémi's apartment on her own and makes it clear to Charly that she would always return to Rémi. Marion is allowed to stay with her stepfather. This one has just lost his job. Both get by with piano lessons and babysitting. When Marion's school grades get worse, Rémi wants to forbid her from babysitting, but Marion admits that she is only unable to concentrate because she has fallen in love with Rémi. He replies that she was wrong.
When Rémi comes home late the next day, he finds Marion naked in his bed. She suggests that he just want to lie in bed with him, but he doesn't know whether he can control himself against her, especially since she insists on being a woman and not a child. He makes it clear to her that one can say stupid things, but she must not do it. When she comes to his bed one more day to read, but tries to seduce him shortly afterwards, he throws her out of the room. He strictly rejects a sexual relationship with her.
Marion becomes apathetic and hardly eats any more. The pediatrician orders her to change her air so that she drives to the mountains with Charly. At the train station, Rémi fulfills her great wish and gives her a French kiss. He spends Christmas with friends; When he was drunk, he phoned Marion and confessed that he loved her. Soon afterwards he looks for her in the mountains, the two of them take a hotel room and sleep together. On the way back, Rémi had an imaginary conversation with Martine; he doesn't know how to proceed.
When Rémi was given notice of his apartment, he moved into a demolished house. He and Marion agreed that their relationship only served to give each other support; Marion is supposed to have a normal youth with normal friends and love affairs. She then invites numerous young men into the house and flirts with men in front of Rémi. Still, she makes it clear to him that she will only have sex with him. After a party from which she only returns in the morning, he gives up: he confesses his love to her. Both sleep together. You get a surprising visit from Charly. As he leaves, he sees them hug and kiss each other stormily; he asks Rémi if he's sleeping with Marion. This indignantly denies; he admits to Marion that he is afraid.
One day, Marion called Rémi for help. The toddler she is taking care of suddenly got sick. Rémi organizes a doctor and medicine. He finally meets the child's mother: Charlotte is a pianist and lives separated from her husband. Marion soon realizes that Rémi and Charlotte have taken a liking to each other. She lets Rémi start his life again: he and Charlotte become a couple and Marion moves back to her birth father.
