Ausoniusstein (nature reserve)

The Ausoniusstein nature reserve is located in the Mayen-Koblenz district in northern Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 31 ha large nature reserve is located on the district of Moselsürsch , a district of Lehmen . It was designated by the Koblenz district government by ordinance of August 15, 1984 and bears the area number 7137-017.
The protection took place
- "Because of the geological and morphological nature for natural historical reasons,
- as a habitat of rare wild plants and plant communities that are threatened in terms of their existence and, more rarely, of threatened animal species for scientific reasons and
- because of its particular scenic character and beauty ”.
The rare Apollo butterfly occurs there.
