Austrian Football Division One 2009

The Austrian Football Division One 2009 is the 12th season of the second highest Austrian division in American football . It began on March 29, 2009 with the game of the CNC Gladiators against the Salzburg Bulls (14-42) and ended on July 11, 2009 with the Silver Bowl XII in Salzburg .

In the final, the Generali Invaders , third-placed after the regular season, surprisingly won against the Salzburg Bulls , the second after the regular season, with 27-26. It was the Invaders' first silver bowl in the sixth attempt.

This year, each of the four teams met in three home and three away games. In addition, each team has a home and an away game against a team from the Interdivision .

The second team of the Raiffeisen Vikings Vienna , which had always won the Silverbowl since 2004, did not start this year because many players had not made the internal cut.
